The New Brunswick Home Economics Association (NBHEA) has the responsibility to regulate the practice of home economics and to govern its members in accordance with the Act to incorporate the New Brunswick Home Economics Association and the by-laws, in order to serve and protect the public interest.
The Association has the mandate to establish, maintain and develop standards of knowledge, skill and efficiency for the practice of home economics and enforce standards of professional ethics for its members.
Any member of the Association in good standing is entitled to use the designation “Professionnal Home Economist” or the initials, P. H.Ec. in English or “économiste familiale immatriculée” or the initials, EFI in French after the member’s name. No person has the right to practice home economicsin NB, either privately or employed by another, unless registered to practise under the provisions of the Act and by-laws.
